Andrea’s Nirvana — Review

“It read easily, flowed smoothly and the events transitioned nicely into one another. It kept me on the edge of my seat.I loved the diversity [of characters]! I didn’t yet come across a dystopian with much diversity, and seeing that this one did it really made me happy. I really liked the family relationships as well, and how the book acknowledges the existence of life after marriage (both of which are things few YA books do). I’m still itching to see what’s next, though, especially after having read the excerpt at the end. Count me in!

A gutsy and unique novel filled with danger and brimming with energy. THE GATHERING by Bernadette Giacomazzo will not be for everyone but this doesn’t take away from the fresh narrative and interesting take on power and corruption that runs throughout the story. A strange but interesting read that will appeal to dystopian fiction and science fiction fans alike.”

Kirkus — Review

“There’s a notable theme of family as Basile fights for loved ones he’s lost and Evanora acts as Jamie’s surrogate daughter. Moreover, the story adeptly tackles topical issues. The focused setting and rounded characters will prime readers for further stories.”

“I am a dystopian story skeptic because I feel like it has all been done. This story changed my mind. The plot is unlike any I have read before. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The story is written with understandable language, and this makes it very easy to follow from each moment to the next. Lovers of dystopian fiction will enjoy this book, and I highly recommend this novel to all fiction readers.
